Boo Urns.

The movie Idiocracy is on cable right now. I'm excited about this, because I never got a chance to see it.

The wonderful Sara Rue has a small role. As usually happens when I watch movies with my laptop in front of me, I looked her up on IMDB.

I saw some photos of her there, and I was so appalled by what I saw.

Sara Rue, before and after

Why did she lose weight? She didn't need to lose weight! She was so gorgeous!

This makes me so sad.

I definitely believe in people making weight management choices for themselves, but I can't help but be disappointed by this turn of events.

Here is someone else upset about this.

Geez, she doesn't even look like herself! Why oh why, Sara. She was so pretty! And WHY would you ever get rid of red hair?!?!?!? I'd love to have her color hair!

I don't know who this actress is but I don't see what the big deal is about this. It's like, no matter what a woman does to her body the media's always got something to say about it. She's too fat, now she's too skinny, her boobs are too big, now they're too small, etc. I don't see a problem, as long as she doesn't look unhealthy (like say, Amy Winehouse). There's nothing wrong with being a little overweight but there's nothing wrong with being thinner either.

Too skinny? Now she just looks fit. I agree with Liz--I don't see what the big deal is, it's her body. It's not more "fat accepting" to insult skinny people.

Well, as I said in the post, it's her body to do with what she wants.

My annoyance is more that she felt she had to change, along the line of "Why did Shakira dye her hair blonde?"

It's her hair to dye, but I loved how her hair looked before.

Ahhh! This is awful. It's like the reverse of that episode of 30 Rock when Jenna gained the pizza weight, and she kept it because she gained more fans who like her and who could recognize her as a fatter person.

I think the problem with this isn't so much that she's now fit, and hey, good for her, but that she formerly was something of an icon for women with more "realistic" physiques, who were perfectly healthy and only "overweight" by the fashion industry's bitchy standards. We don't know her motivations for dropping the weight, and it may have simply been to optimize her health, but it would be at least as likely that she felt she was denied certain roles for being something other than the Hollywood ideal. We don't know, so we ought not assume.

Admittedly, I liked her when she was larger, but she's mighty fine at any size. As long as she's happy, that's all that matters to me.

I was also watching Idiocracy on my laptop and did the exact same thing. She was perfect exactly the way she was, I just hope she did this because she wanted to not because others told her to. I just wish she still looked like she used to but, hey it is her body so she can do what she wants.

What is this ...bizarro world? She went from a little thick to a lot of hot. Her new look is gorgeous. Good for her, I admire the discipline it took to shape up.

I think she looks gorgeous either way, I do wish she kept the hair, but her body is killer with the extra pounds off... she is not too thin at all, she looks like she is at a healthy BMI and it suits her.

Sara could use the loss of a few pounds, but she did more than just lose weight. If she didn't under go the cosmetic scalpel, she lost weight an unhealthy way. Screw Hollywood and their "skinny girl" mentality - natural full figured women are hotter than any skinny Pop-Tart.

She went from unhealthy to healthy. People shouldn't put her down because she did something good for herself! Boo on you. Obesity related diseases are the number one killer in America. Her life is more important than being an entertaining 'big' character that people like to see (like Chris Farley) Look what happened to him!!

are you guys stupid...she looks great after losing weight!

WTF is wrong with you people (and the original commenter)? I agree that many in Hollywood lose (too much) weight for the wrong reason, but to suggest Sara Rue has lost too much is crazy! People (women), listen up: being overweight (BMI over 25ish - over 25% bodyfat (for women)) is unhealthy and unattractive. No amount of makeup or clothes or hairstyle will make it better. To say that Rue is "too skinny" in the after picture demonstrates only your own rationalization of your obesity. On commenter said that Rue used to sport a more "realistic" physique. While this may be true, it is not good - good for you Sara - you are so much prettier now! Ignore the whales in the peanut gallery.

Even hotter. I'll take the skinny version! But yah, the red hair is better.

Some people who are looking to preserve memories through a memorial urn, choose ceramic because they are beautiful and are undeterred for centuries.

I think she is a very pretty woman either way but look at the difference in the way she carries herself: In the first pic she looks a little uncertain but in the second pic she clearly knows shes hot sh*t. Go you, miss Rue; you are an inspiration for women everywhere who wanna feel good about themselves.
